The Super Bowl LVII halftime show is 142 days away. And, if the sources at Variety are on target, it is going to be a game-changer: Taylor Swift (!) is reportedly playing the big stage at the NFL’s biggest game:

I can speak for only myself, but I am PUMPED about this development. With COVID cancelling Loverfest in 2020, the wait between the last time I saw Swift in concert and this moment is longer than it usually is. It has been 1,575 days since I’ve last seen Swift in concert. And that is far too long for my liking. Oh, and if you haven’t been, I’d encourage you to do so because she puts on a show for the ages each time out. But if you don’t want to shell out big money for concert tickets, Swift playing the Super Bowl halftime show is a fun trial run.
After all, we’re talking about 11 Grammy Awards, a spot on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Songwriters of All-Time list, as well as Billboard‘s Greatest of All Time Artists list. Swift is as good as it gets in the best performers alive. Period.
You should’ve seen the smile on my face when the NFL announced last year’s halftime show plans. I couldn’t think it could get any bigger or better than Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige sharing the stage at So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles. But putting Swift in the middle of that Super Bowl hype machine has a special kind of potential. And I’m ready for it.
The only thing that could make this better is if the Bears made it to the Super Bowl. *nudge, nudge Justin Fields*
