The 2022 Europa League final pits Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt against Scottish giants Rangers with both teams looking to break a long European barren run.

Frankfurt have reached their first European final since winning the 1980 UEFA Cup with Rangers aiming for a first UEFA trophy since lifting the 1972 Cup Winners' Cup in Barcelona.

Both sides have caught the eye on their march to the final, with crucial performances from key players ensuring some historic results, on route to their showdown in Seville.

However, when the dust settles after the final both Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Oliver Glasner could face a battle to keep hold of their star names.

The Sporting News takes a look at six players who could attract interest from the Premier League this summer.

After spells with Leeds United and Newcastle as a youth team player, Tavernier spent seven loan spells dipping in and out of the English second and third tiers, before finally making the break to Ibrox in 2015.

However, the arrival of Steven Gerrard ahead of the 2018/19 season transformed his role, after being made club captain by the former Liverpool star.

In Gerrard's first season, he notched up 14 league goals and 16 assists, as part of an incredible transformation from solid right back to potent attacking weapon.

The greater freedom under Gerrard unlocked a new level to his game, with confident leadership, penalties and an ability to consistently deliver crosses into the box, as he netted 19 league goals in their title winning campaign of 2020/21.

After turning 30 this season, he faces a crossroads, and the temptation for one final crack at the English Premier League, he could be suited to a team looking for a dynamic full-back.

Finland international Kamara followed a similar nomadic path to Tavernier on his own road to Ibrox in 2019.

Gerrard opted to bring forward the club's move for him in the January transfer window after impressing with Dundee.

After forcing he way into Gerrard's starting XI in 2019, he played a key role in Rangers' title success in 2020/21 with 33 league starts from 38 in central midfield.

Despite agreeing a four-year extension at the start of 2021/22, Kamara has been linked with a move away from Ibrox, if a Champions League offer comes in.

Winning the Europa League could be the best way to hold on to him as his consistency as a midfield metronome could attract attention from former club Arsenal.

Aribo provided a creative balance in Gerrard's hard-working side following his arrival in Glasgow ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Primarily used out wide by Gerrard, with seven goals and four assists as Rangers won the title last season, but Van Bronckhorst has looked to vary his role in 2021/22.

His pace in wide areas is also utilised to break the lines between low block defences, and his goal and assist numbers have improved as a result this season.

With less than 12 months left on his current Rangers contract, he is on Gerrard's radar at Aston Villa, with Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira also linked with the Nigerian international.

Kostic has shaken off his 'solid operator' tag under Oliver Glasner to become one of the most potent wide players in Europe.

Since the start of 2021, no player has recorded more Bundesliga assists than the Serbian wing back, with 24 set ups for his Eintracht teammates.

Previously deployed as a rotating option between left back and left wing, he has moulded perfectly into Glasner's 3-4-2-1 system as an ever present threat.

If Eintracht fail to win in Seville, and with his contract up in 2023, they could face a crunch call with teams from across the continent looking at him as part of a growing trend towards assist-machine full-backs.

Hinteregger will be sorely missed at center back in the Europa League final, forced to sit out with a season-ending hamstring injury suffered in the semifinal against West Ham.

He had been an ever present figure in Glaser's back three this season with the Austrian defender showing real adaptability in the switch from a four-man defence.

His organisation and leadership proved invaluable in Eintracht's march to the final as it allowed the midfielders to impose themselves higher up the pitch.

A throwback central defender, with strong numbers for tackles won and clearances, Hinteregger does not claim as many headlines as his teammates.

But his versatility to swap between defensive systems makes him an attractive option, if Eintracht miss out on Champions League football next season.

Kostic's goals and assists have highlighted him as Eintracht's star man but Borre's contribution in the Europa League has played a key role in their run to the final.

A goal at the Camp Nou in the quarterfinals, plus a goal and an assist home and way against West Ham in the last four, have reinvigorated his debut season.

Despite only joining from River Plate last summer, the Colombian forward is already attracting attention for his busy and high intensity attacking style.

His ability to press high and score important goals mirrors the demands from major European sides to have forwards that slot into established systems and provide a constant output.
