Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain and current BCCI president said that Virat Kohli needs a bit of practice to return to form. Sourav Ganguly said that he is very hopeful of Virat Kohli making a grand return in the Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli hasn’t been in great touch in the last few months.

Virat Kohli will return to the national side in the upcoming Asian tournament after missing the tours of the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Virat Kohli has been facing a massive slump in his batting form for almost three years now. His wretched run on the England tour has also raised questions about his place in the T20I set-up when the T20I World Cup is less than 2 months away.

Sourav Ganguly said that Virat Kohli just needs practice and some game time and he will be good while hoping for a century from him, which has eluded the former captain since 2019.

Sourav Ganguly said, “Virat needs practice and has to play (more) matches. He is a great player. He is playing very well but not getting a century. Hope he will make a century in this Asia Cup. I am very hopeful.”

“I am very excited to play at Eden Gardens again. Very excited. This is a charity game on 75 years of Indian Independence —Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav… It is going to be a special game. I don’t know what will happen because I am not in practice anymore… I don’t know what will happen. I wish I can play cover drive like before. I wish I could connect the bat and ball well. I will play just one game. Will enjoy the game. It’s a game for a good occasion and I am happy to participate in it,” he added.

Sourav Ganguly will be involved in the historic one-off match at his home ground in Kolkata against the World Giants, which is a charity game celebrating 75 years of Indian independence. Sourav Ganguly just wished to be able to play the cover drive like before as he is uncertain because of not being in practice anymore.
